The best and most brutal black metal album ever! from the best BM band Dark Throne! The vocals are very brutal and the music is raw as hell! The "great" Dark Throne production fits the music perfect. The best Dark Throne album in my opinion. 10+/10

This is one of my favorite albums, period. Some people criticized Darkthrone for the retro/Celtic Frost sound on 4 of the 7 tracks on this album but that's the beauty of it. Who else could bring us the "Frost" sound so convincingly? Cold, atmospheric production(or lack of)as usual. The only thing about this album that is a hinderance is the vocals. They aren't Nocturno at his best(they don't sound as evil, kind of forced also)and they are way to up front in the mix. In other words the vocals kind of over take the music at times. Other than that, this is a very cool album.

With a blaze in the northern sky they set a new standard for black metal. They continued using this style and made it even more grim and primitive with Under a Funeral Moon and Transilvanian Hunger.

This is the album you see them change. The vocals no longer have echo, the guitars dont sound so noisy anymore and melody returns...
Two medium black metal songs. Three (great) celtic frost inspired songs. Quintessence (with lyrics of Varg Vikernes) is the best song on this album, slow and grim. A cold outro ends the album.

This cd is so totally awesome... I can´t get over that evil voice of Nocturno Culto. It sounds like he´s puking all over the studio (rehersal room, or whatever they use). You should check out the songs in this order: Quintessence, En vind av Sorg, Triumphant Gleam, The hordes Of Nebulah, Beholding The Throne Of Might, Hans siste vinter and Snø Og Granskog (utferd). I actually like Snø og granskog very good, but this song is like an Outro, so it fits that this song is the last song.. Something a bm fan shouldn´t be without...

DARKTHRONE - PANZERFAUST

Evil, harsh, satanic and ugly as hell. None can deny the facts regarding this album's contents. "Panzerfaust" opens with a rough and one of the best songs from Darkthrone's entire discography, "En Vind av Sorg". This song has great melody, evil vocalwork and an atmosphere parallel to some Carpathian Forest -songs from "Black Shining Leather" -album. Beside this song, there are six other songs, which are good/great. "Beholding the Throne of Might" and the cold ending "Snö og Granskog".

Varg Vikernes has written lyrics for the song "Quintessence" and admittably Fenriz's poetry appeals to me more. The vocals itself are very ugly, no echoes and dissonant growls here and there. Very tortured-sounding and filled with evil misanthropy. Very true, but also very unmusical.

Overall, this CD consolates the dissappointment of "Transilvanian Hunger" and finds itself in the top of three best Darkthrone -albums. If you want to read a review about this album as brief as possible, check the first sentence from this review, or check this: You won't be regretting if you get this album.

7 out of 10

This album, along with Transylvanian Hunger, are two of the best black metal albums ever recorded. Forget new Darkthrone, go listen to Clandestine Blaze.

Another great Darkthrone-Outtake. "Panzerfaust" has big Hellhammer and Celtic Frost influences, which make this album so amazing!

A MUST for every BM-Fan.

Everybody talks about Celtic Frost rip-off (okey some riffs, who cares?)on this album,my opinion is that this is the greatest Darkthrone album yet,but they had a different style before "Panzerfaust"and after i think.
So to sum it up to this day this is their classic masterpiece, all songs has killer riffs, the raw vibes that black metal music generally needs to be real black metal.
The vocals really sound grimly insane, hail "possessed-sounding" vocals!!

I cannot help crying and laughing and jumping madly, my heart exploding, my throath pulsing, when I listen to this one.....
panzerfaust closes the gloden age of darkthrone....total death don't exist compared to this one...everything is perfect and untouchable with this....music, arrangments, lyrics, production, cover.....BLACK COMING FUCKING OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!THE BEST FROM DARKTHRONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fucking brutal!!!, fucking cold!!!, the kingdom of the coldness nights appears in this cd all time... this is true black metal... this is Darkthrone...

If soulside journey is the coronation of darkthrone's early career, PANZERFAUST is the coronation of their second period (in my opinion) and possibly their best one. It's almost impossible to equal this masterpiece, rooted into bathory/celtic frost sound, but going so far ahead that way...
Nocturno Culto vox here's at its undisputable best. (did his throat bleed singing that way?...)
Heavy and powerful, dark'n'desperate as never again.
TRUE, FUCKING TRUE
