HAIL! This is one of the most beautiful black/death albums ever....And one of the most underestimated, too! It's not easy to find out, but if you can, buy it!

I must say that's a very interesting Black/Death album. It's technical side is very good, and the whole sounds very well. At least worth hearing.

I used to be completely euphoric about this one, and I would still rate it a 9 on a scale from 1 to 10. I agree totally on the fact that this album is so incredibly underestimated, since I never hear someone talking about this masterpiece. For those who don't know what I'm talking about: Dawn is a Swedish band that play black metal in an incredibly beautiful way. All their songs except for "Ride the wings of pestilence" are quite fast and every song is very long (over 8 minutes) and very epically created. Add to that a soundquality that may be even the best I have ever heard in black metal and a very original (a bit folky) yet beautiful and dark style of melodies and you get an album with a magnificent atmosphere like this one. If you are into black metal, this record SHOULD NOT be missing in your collection!

damn i guess i'm not the only one that owns this one. A top notch black metal album, must have for anyone. I got mine at tower records..... hint, hint. Too bad dawn hasn't stuck around to make anything else. they are right up there with DISSECTION and MARDUK. 10/10

These swedish guys are so elegant and excellent playing this pure black metal melodic enough to transmit sorrow stained with darknes and epic... they are very fast, guitars and drums lead the music, but they recreate a feeling more sad than agressive. The only lower point is that not all the song are at the same level (is my opinion, of course), some are masterpieces and other are just good.
I hope they show up with something new one of this days.

This is the best effort of dark Black/Death Metal after Dissection!

9/10

This album is one of my favorites(and just as good as Dissection when it comes to melodic black metal). The vocals are better than anything ever, so harsh, absolutely insane powerful screams/roars. The songs are, as several have pointed out, on the long side. Guitar riffs are usually very good, sometimes classic, don't expect flash or tons of guitar harmonies though. Listen to "Malediction Murder", and understand the power of this criminally underrated band.

Underrated is an understatement.
When boring bands like Dark Funeral is known worldwide and theese guys are totally unknown you realise that the world is a fucked up place.
