Well, we're dealing with folk metal with this album (and with Moonsorrow broadly speaking) and good folk metal indeed. I've heard some awful folk metal attempts, but this one is something unique.

Grwol vocals mainly, with some clean vocals and choirs. Double basses and sometimes even fast tempo. Lots of keyboards + folk instruments (mouth harps & accordions) Hand claps even :p But all of that doesen't leave quitars to a backing group, there are many good quitar riffs & melodies. Also drums on this record rock, nothing that blasts your mind doesen't come from drum section, but pretty good though.

And lyrics are in Finnish, that sounds good to me 'cause I'm from Finland :p

As a summary: unique album from unique band. If you like folk metal with slight black influenses, this one is a must.

So for me the best album borned under the sign of Moonsorrow.Especially the coupled of songs Tyven-Sankarihauta is something much near at the perfection in the folk-black style. The keyboard refrein it's atmospheric and joyous and the contrast with the growl voice it' impressive. It' strong the influence of bathory (hammerheart)in some songs (expecially in"Aurinko ja kuu")The vocals in finnish it's a good choice, indispensable to create a viching atmospheric. In conclusion another good album from Finland,an album to advise at the lovers of folk-viching-black metal.
