This album, as always, is a great work of Nargaroth. All the songs are great but if you really wanna know what i am talking about then you better check-out some of the songs like AmorakIII or Moonblood. Kanwulf creates a great album by putting all emotion of anger and hatred on one disc. With some very good covers, Black Metal is Krieg, is one of the best albums in Kanwulfs history. The music that is Nargaroth is totally different then the atmospheric art that varg put out in burzum, so fuck you, dumbass. No compromise Review by: euronydead While this is a great album, a unique dedication to the diversity of black metal, it has been taken the wrong way by many people. The biggest misconception that pisses me off is those who assume this album is what all Nargaroth releases sound like; the closest song on this release to his other albums is the epic "Seven tears are Flowing to the River". The other annoyance is that "Black metal ist krieg" has become the mantra of mallgoth Cradle of Filth groupies, most of them not even aware of where the phrase came from (much less that CoF isn't black metal). In any sense, a very worthy dedication to black metal as a whole. Few musicians can show true appreciation and dedication to bm like Nargaroth, and even fewer are able to do so without becoming a carbon-copy of other bands. Personally, I think Kanwulf damn-near outdoes the bands he is hailing on this album. Just one more note for anyone who has not bought this album - I strongly advise against buying it if you are not familiar with the music he is dedicating this album to; at the very least, buy a Burzum album or two before this. People saying it's sound is a "copy" of those bands are right, because this is what the record is all about, to capture the spirit of early blackmetal. It is done right, the songs "black metal ist krieg", "i burn for you", "the day burzum killed mayhem", "pisen pro satana", "Erik..." , "the gates of eternity" and "possessed by black fucking metal" are done right, and sound like some true black metal classic songs. The other songs are crap. This is the best Nargaroth record, i listened to some of the others and they were crap, if you like early black metal you will surely like this record, if not you're a fag. There are a number of good tracks on the album and it is worth having if you happen to come across it but I don't regard it as innovative or original which are two huge factors in an albums rating.
