This is an album that brings us the sensation of horror, pain and decadence. A great raw black metal brought to us by the italian band Necromass. Unknown even in the underground black metal scene, they try to show us that black metal was made to be mean, dirty, raw and very, very satanic. The only problem found on this album is the sound quality, which is considered low. But in the other way, we find some great guitar riffs. The drums are very fast and noisy, and finally, the voice is just awesome. It's like we were listenning to Bathory's first album or something of the kind. This is a great example of how black metal should be.

Keep fucking support metal.

"Mysteria Mystica Zofiriana" on the LP and "Mysteria Mystica Zothyriana" on the CD, considering the spelling of the title track we will just say the last one is the right one. Just another fuck up by that Unisound guy.
I had this one on vinyl, and as my record player wasnt of very high quality I thought that might perhaps be the reason why this album sounds so 'inaudible'.
I later found out it's not due to that, this album just has a very flat and echoing production. But what a piece of music it is! Lasting only about half an hour this one is short but that doesn't matter if the music is great, which it is. This is chaotic, atmospheric, fast and 'occult' sounding black metal with killer riffs and great vocals. Notable is the use of acoustic guitars in several songs, it really adds to the unique sound the band creates.
Great album, and recommended to every black metal fan.

Favourite songs: title track, "sodomatic orgy of hate" (check out the end!) and "black mass intuition".

Necromass hail from Italy, the land known formidably from it’s past vices and unspeakable brutality of the Roman Empire. Why the aforementioned historic simile for this review; simple- Necromass are the same beasts as those which devoured Christians wholly, so as the music they churn. They are merciless, unrelenting, virulent, yet painfully precise and talented. Mysteria Mystica Zofiriana , which is what I shall call it, since the spelling of the last word, as mentioned in the previous review, is spelled differently- when I first saw the release in ’94 it was spelled “Zofiriana”. The only flaw to mention is the production, as it is somewhat low in volume and at times indistinct. However, this is first rate BM when Unisound was at their peak in the early nineties.
Again, the riffs are monstrous and sharply executed, the drums rapid, raging and prefect for the overall feel, the bass at times can be heard clearly and adds excellent atmosphere, and the vocals…- purely as evil as the mind can imagine- straight from the pit of fucking hell utter darkness. Necromass were so underground that I would imagine most BM fans in Europe might not remember them; a crime since they were a true musical threat in the vein of True BM, not the shit, well some of it, of present day.
