The atmosphere is great. I like these older deathy albums by Tiamat much better than the later ones. Clouds has no "flowerpower-songs" like on wildhoney, just evil and dark stuff. Death/gothic metal with cool keyboards and gitarrs. Songs like "Undressed" is better than most music I've heard in my life. Check it out for yourself. | Review by: mactatuz I actually like this album still for some reason. I think it's nice to play during the Autumn and it has a very nice, dark atmosphere (not BLACK though). Tasteful keys, solid drumming, interesting vocals, and Rockish riffing/soloing make this a well rounded album. One of the only Doomish recordings that have struck a chord with me and continue to do so. My only gripe though is that all these songs are so predictable since they follow the same formula. The first time I heard this I was able to predict when the songs would change and what parts would be repeated by the time the third track rolled around. Not good... On a trivial note, I noticed that the production/sound on the guitars and drums here are EXACTLY the same as on Unleashed's masterpiece Shadows In The Deep. Weird, huh? They couldn't be better. Edlund's voice creates a very dark atmosphere. I think that it's an album that everyone MUST have. Review by: panos wm It´s sorprise me that CLOUDS has only 4 reviews, Clouds is one of the masterpieces of doom metal of all times... not complicated riffs, nor sofisticated arrangements, just profound inspiration... lyrics are really fabulous, dark and melancholy atmospheres caught you in a cosmic dreams, TIAMAT is a classic of doom metal, and CLOUDS, the best... hail old TIAMAT!!!... Review by: Beyto it must have been two years...or maybe two and a half ago since i bought this record...for only one euro...at this time didn't really knew about tiamat...only that they are something good...well...i bought it. when i came home i listened to it and thought "mhm...nice" and put it away...3 or 4 months later i listened to it again...and again...and again...and i fell in love...clouds...how can i thank this record for everything i did with me? i really love it...the sleeping beauty...in a dream...the scapegoat (i never read such a nice ironic text again)...and...of course...a caress of stars...i wish i could hear this one live...only one time..and with the girl i love in my arms...*sigh* i recommend this to anyone...really...it made me sick... Review by: Corpsie It was a big disappointment to me after the great 'The Astral Sleep'. I can remember how everybody around liked that but me somehow didn't. Maybe ist's because of drums which I consider to be totally fu*ked up on that record. As most people call it masterpiece you must get it and make up yr opinion by yrself.
