Blood Inside is finally here... and its all you expected and more.Obviously all reminisce of metal are gone.Ulver continuos in the vain of Perdition City with more bombasity, loudnes, high pitched vocals and even some lead guitar here and there. You will be stunned by unbelievable musicianship and originality.
This album definitely could be a soundtrack to David Lynch movie.Dark ambience mixed with electronica create soundscapes of beuty and Garms vocals guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.I have listened album several times and every time you find some nuances undiscovered before. Usually deep music like that is hard to get into but not in this case , songs are cohesive yet there is just the right amount of weirdness to keep them different and interesting.Superb production.Every note pores brilliance.

Highly recommended .
10 out of 10 !!!

Blood Inside is a kind of mix between "william blake" and "A quick fix of melancholy". It's not metal even though you can find some solos...
It's quite excellent, completely psychadelic, I love "your call" and "In the red" with his jazzy ending. The whole Cd is composed like the tracks of a film, I didn't get all symbols yet...
Carefull : not for integrist metal-head, listen or die !

This is really bad. It's the closest to common pop crap that Ulver have come. On this they've reverted to samples of jazz and Bach's Toccata and Fugue which are interesting to say the most. Don't waste your money on Blood Inside, get one of Ulver's previous masterpieces

This is one of the best releases in 2005. Kris who tried hard for the last 7 years(since marriage release) to pass over theborders of conventional metal/electronic music has finally managed to do so.
this cd consists of 9 masterpieces which musically can be described as a caertain kind of progressive rock thou unbordered by the type of any kinda of rock. the albom has a little in common with ulvers past metal/minimalistic electronic works and the compositions complexity of the most songs are more similar to classic music then to anything else. The other high point of the album is the usage of jazz elements along with classic music approach.

in conclusion buy this album and u will get a great rock/electronic album with blizzard drums classic music and jazz mixed in an ambient dark atmosphere.

My CAll: They are lying to you....all the reviews, (those outside of her-I have circumspected) seem to be part of a larger conspiracy....And exactly who does this album appeal to?...think about that for a second....All the sound effects in the world are of little value when there is no soul therin...The album to me is useless...it makes me think of when we were in shop class at Christmas, the last day before that vacation and theres a party...chips,all flavors of bubbling sodas, colors, emotions and sugars...and then theres Willie and his nerd herd, his "elect", a chosen "few"...they are not even the popular crowd, nor do they endorse the majority of the herd, yet they dream...they wish....they stare into the mainstream, pretending in pomp to be more important and free than such herd mentalities....And Willie, the "trickster G", the "beach boy",(?! bwahahaha) gets a little too hyped up at these times, a little fruity,a little too "experimental" and starts taking the different sodas and "mixxing" them together, to the point of sweet, baseless, sugary funneling madness, and looks at you, shamelessly, his eyes like two boiled eggs, and asks:
"suicide drinks?"
This album appeals to those who are "evolved","artistic"....good lord-gasp-the word gay is suddenly too pure, too narrowminded..this will hold true to many once black metal acts, with euronymous spectre sitting home alone in privacy listening to electronics, holding his turds and enjoying this grim prophecy of the future of such?!! NO!!!!!!!! The new Peccatum album...Emperor dead for...this!?!?..the future will be peanut butter and egg sandwiches....mustard flavored smoked white chocolate wafers...guys who have to have something extra to go to new heights..cyber goth RPG animal porn with strobe lights and beats with female french spoken words playing in pink lit chambers, replacing traditonal human relationships..oh, fuck are we in trouble...
Stay the fuck away from this one...

One of the best Ulver release. These guys can really surprise you with their music, Each album is different than the previous. To bad that some says that Ulver is pop crap or anything else. If you can listen to anything else than rabbit fucking beat drum and stupid kind of newest black metal than shut up you loosers !!

I did not like Ulver - Blood inside, even though I consider myself as a great fan of Ulver in their electronic era.

I found that, as expected, Ulver explores with a lot of sounds, showing great creativity and providing every second of the album with different details. However, they fail to create an environment like in their previous avant-garde releases where in fact, they managed to do it.

With regard to the vocal part, I find it boring to death: after some minutes they become really tedious. Anyway, following the phylosophy of the album, Ulver showed that they can sing, play and make variations with the voice in a broad range.

In brief, I did not like the album. My rate 7/10. Anyway, you should give it a try in order to find your own oppinion.

One of my favorite Ulver releases.

For the evolved psyche. Nuff said.

Ulver went from Best Black Metal Band of all time to one of the best bands, just musically. What a joy and dream it would be to hear them combine their old BM style from the first 3 albums with something like this, and there is a blast beat towards the end of the cd, but it is hidden in some kind of dub/new wave textures. Mortiis tries so hard but can never reach this lever of musical genius outside of Black Metal.

Oh, and if you're wondering what it would be like to hear Nattens Madrigal meets Blood Inside, check out Opel Duath, it's pretty fucking close. Also Median, what Zyklon wishes they were.

Too much pretensions in this release, is good but unlike former releases this one tires to apeal an evolution, since the Marriage album we got the idea that these guy were into something diffrent, but not revolutionary, in metal maybe The sound is good the atmosphere is good but nothing more than background music, at least in Perdition City they tried harder and the album is way too much better than this one, the roblem with Blood si they are too much aware of things, they are not risking, they have their new labeled musical-style: music for the snobs, anyway, this one is even more empty, souless and pretty good if you want some music to get drowsy.
