1. Under The Samnites' Spears

[music & lyrics: Bucci/Giglioni/Scazzocchio]

In shame we defile
Before our enemies
Forced to march
Under the Samnites' Spears

Seven years of wars
Have led us to this ruinous end
Seven years of wars
Were fought in vain

On a hostile ground that seemed to be
Protecting the Samnites
We were fighting though in our hearts the light
Of hope shone no more
Among the southern mountains lost
We quickly tired

With no supplies left exhausted we starved
Led by deceit towards our doom
Trapped in gorge, surrounded by woods
We were overthrown

In shame we defile
Before our enemies
Forced to march
Under the Samnites' Spears

Step by step, one by one
We bear the humiliations
Of facing our foolishness'es symbol
As we march we can hear their voices mocking us
Laughing, screaming, crying out their scorn
Our mouths are filled with the bitter taste of shame
Poisoning the blood - in our veins
Killing all our pride

On a hostile ground that seemed to be
Protecting the Samnites
We were fighting though in our hearts the light
Of hope shone no more
Among the southern mountains lost
We quickly tired

2. I Am Legend

[music: Bucci/Giglioni/Scazzocchio, lyrics: Brigida Costa, inspired by the novel "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson]

Hear me! I'm the last one left
of a long gone kind,
I stand alone
But as sun sets and darkness falls with hundreds voices the air comes alive

And every night they're comin' out for me
With hate filled rage they try to force
their way inside
Knocking and banging they pound the door
And they thrash the windows' boards... the roof... the walls...

Listen! I'm the one your kids will be taught to fear, I'm a scary tale
'cause when sun shines the Earth is mine,
that's when by my hand you will die

And every night I fight a war that's lost
Aware that even if I'm killed I'll live in your minds
Forever and ever I'll haunt your dreams,
My memory'll be enough to chill your spine

One more night shatters my nerves, and shreds my sanity away
Starving they scream their hunger as they try to draw me out
One more sunrise breaks the spell, releases me from this hell
To cast me into a new nightmare where nothing I knew has remained

I'm what you'll never be again, one of a kind
I am your fear
... your hate
... your doom
I am legend

Hear me! I'm the last one left of a long gone kind, I stand alone
But as sun sets and darkness falls with hundreds voices the air comes alive

And every night they're comin' out for me
With hate filled rage they try to force their way inside
Knocking and banging they pound the door
And they thrash the windows' boards: the roof

One more night shatters my nerves, and shreds my sanity away
Starving they scream their hunger as they try to draw me out
One more sunrise breaks the spell, releases me from this hell
To cast me into a new nightmare
where nothing I knew has remained

3. Xanadu (A Vision In A Dream)

[music: Bucci/Scazzocchio, lyrics: Bucci, inspired by the poem "Kubla Khan, a vision in a dream", written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 1798]

The golden shadow
Of the pleasure dome
Floated midway on the waves
Of the river Alph

"In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure dome decree...
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Down to a sunless sea
So twice
Fice miles of fertile ground with towers and walls
were girdled round
And here were gardens bright
With sinuous... rills

And here were forests, forests as
ancient as the hills
Enfolding sunny, spots of greenery"

A mystic reign on the Asian coast was located
A miracle of rare device...
A sunny pleasure-dome was built
Over the winding enchanting icy caves
The silence ruled
among the sacred lands
Of Xanadu

From a raging dance of rocks,
since the dawn of Time
It flings up the holy turbid stream
In this ageless tumult, Kubla Khan heard from
Far Ancestral voices prophesying... war!

A savage place!

...a vision in a dream!

And beyond wood and dale there was
An endless abyss where the river
Would sank in turmoil to a lifeless ocean
Alight by the shine of
A feeble waning moon
Lost in the sky

...and still some whispers in the midnight breeze
remind us again the beauty of Xanadu!

4. ...And Winter Was

[music: Bucci/Giglioni/Scazzocchio, lyrics: Bucci]

[Zeus:] "Lord of shades, I swear you...
Persephone will be your bride
By your side she will become Queen of Hades"

Since that damned day, the grim King of the Reign
of darkness was waiting for the fate to be fulfilled
Knowing not the deal the girl was gathering
flowers in the Nisa's plain when the infernal
chariot came

Suddenly the sun was covered by gloomy clouds
and an icy wind started to blow
Under her feet a deep chasm was opened wide
and with a cold embrace she was
stolen from the light

[Hades:] "The Father of gods
has decreed your doom
Since so long time
An endless reign you will rule by my side
Of death you'll be the queen!"

The Demethra's rage was so terrible that all the
earth was tormented by a long famine
A sad winterseason crawled in every land
bringing to all the men sufferings and pain
But condemned by a pomegranate
Persephone's doom was sealed

5. At The Gates Of Utopia

[music: Scazzocchio]

[Instrumental]

6. The Curse Of Medusa

[music and lyrics by Stormlord]

No man who beheld her could not fall
She had eyes of diamond and silken hair
Such a beauty was consumed inside

The fire of pride burned in her heart
That fire so many led to ruin
Ended by being the cause of her disgrace

Medusa dared to compare herself
To the golden armed daughter of Zeus
An affront the goddess could not bear

A revenge so cruel made her who
Was once by all loved and admired
Become a monster feared by the whole mankind

Medusa's beautiful hair turned to
A tangle of poisonous snakes
Horrible scales covered her skin
Her eyes grew cold

Her gaze as sharp as wind in a winter night
Could chill the blood in the bravest heart
Turning into stone whoever dared
Into those hollow eyes to stare

Her fate was so fulfilled

She lurked quietly in her cave among
statues of stone
Brooding over her hate
Shrouded in shades

Medusa dared to compare herself
To the golden armed daughter of Zeus
An affront goddess could not bear

A revenge so cruel made her who
Was once by all loved and admired
Become a monster feared by the whole mankind

Those who beheld, froze in fear
Drained of all their life
At the sight

7. The Burning Hope

[music: Bucci/Giglioni, lyrics: Bucci]

At the dawn of time when the Earth was young
A battle was wildly raging
The reign of Cronos fell down to pieces
by Tytan's rage he was dethroned

Under Zeus' leadership the victory was reached
In the gloomy depths
of Tartaros the tyrant was exiled

Then only wastelands and silent valleys
were left where life once dwelled
By clay and fire Prometheus created
the first man while Zeus breathed
the life into him

From the sacred hands of Gods
humanity was born
But their souls were not complete yet
'cause fear possessed Zeus' thoughts

Prometheus couldn't bear Zeus arrogance
[Prometheus:] "Mankind deserves more, they need our help!"
but the father of Gods just made his choice
[Zeus:] "I don't want them to threaten me, one day!
This mortal breed must remain as weak as the animals they are!"

So, Prometheus understood there was nothing more to do
The time for wise words comes to an end
And he decided...

To give mankind a hope
He stole the fire from
The chariot of the Sun

A spark was hidden in a hollow wood
The fire changed man's doom
But horrible was Prometheus' fate
When from the sky
Zeus saw the flames burning bright

To a column he was chained on the Caucasus peak
By Efestus he was trapped,
Tormented by an eagle's jaws

8. A Sight Inwards

[music: Bucci/Scazzocchio, lyrics: Bucci]

A shade of terror
Right before midnight
He sent some guards to search for her
Orpheus' soul was slowly drowning
Into a pit of burning fear
His love was lost

As he discovered
Eurydice's sad fate
A twisted thought went through his mind
He sailed to north following the coast of
The Ionic Sea heading for the
Dark river Styx

Enchanting Charon Orpheus reached
Those shores full of shades
In the Reign of the damned
By his golden lyre
He brought peace for a while

With the Queen of Hades
A deal was made
A new hope for his bride

The nymph could return
Back to life again
But on the path that leads to light
Orpheus must not take a single look at her
Or she'd belong to death's Realm
Forevermore

When the warm rays of the morning sun
Broke the darkness of the cave
For a moment he forgot the deal
And he lost his beloved bride
Again

9. The Secrets Of The Earth

[music: Bucci/Giglioni/Scazzocchio, lyrics: written by William Blake (1757-1827), adapted by F.Bucci]

The eternal gates' terrific porter
Lifted the northern bar
Thel entered in and saw the secrets of
The land unknown
She saw the couches of the dead
And where the fibrous roots
Of every heart on Earth infixes deep its restless twists

She wandered in the land of clouds through valley dark,
listening dolours and lamentations

dolours and lamentations

Waiting oft besides a devy grave
She stood in silence
Listening to the voices of the ground
She stood so still

Until to her own grave plot
She came, and there she sat (down)
And heard this voice of sorrow breathed
From the hollow pit

Why cannot the Ear be closed to it's own destruction?
Or the glistening eye (to the) poison (of a) smile?
Why are Eyelids store with arrows ready drawn
Where a thousand fighting men in ambush... lie?

Secrets of the Earth

Why a tongue impressed with honey from every wind?
Why an Ear, a whirlpool fierce to drawn creations in?
And Why a little curtain of flesh
On the bed of our desire...
