Midnight Odyssey Biolume Part 2 - The Golden Orb 1. Dawn-Bringer Amongst the ruins in this deep residing cave Steps forth a being, who is freed from his chains He looks up skyward at the early morning sky The blackened canvas greets his blinded eyes He feels a power, long-gone now returned And with a deep breath, feels desire burn The hopeless aeons have scattered like a dream The night winds blowing, calling from the east The titan rising, but his bones are still weak He has no strength, and cannot wander far He lurks in shadow and hides from the stars There lies a presence, that fills him with fear He senses daylight is growing ever near He bides his time, ’til tomorrow’s duskfall When the sun has gone Watching for the presence of the morning star Falling, when it is but the only one Watching for the glow of the morning light Hiding when the dawn breaks the night Watching from the cracks in the dark below Scanning all the stars in the sky Watching for the glow of the solar fires Hiding, in the safety of the dark The bright son of dawn Will herald the new day The other dim stars Will fade with the coming of the light The golden braids of the dawn light Will give all away These deeds of the night Must not be known The morning stars lowers To the ends of the sky He precedes his mother And ends the dark night He shines but the brightest His light burns so far A long night now over Rest morning star The fires of sunlight Will drain what is left Of the titan’s life-force And render his end “Oh wanderer you’ve helped me What I tell you is truth My past deeds I have paid for In silence and agony Go look for yourself At the sky turning soon The embers of daylight, they burn There are those who would seek to Have me chained for aeons more I pose no real danger I am weak, old and frail Don’t give into their deceitful words What they promise is not true They will trick thee, may your tongue be kept still” The morning stars lowers To the ends of the sky He precedes his mother And ends the dark night He shines but the brightest His light burns so far A long night now over Rest morning star The fires of sunlight Will drain what is left Of the titan’s life-force And render his doomed end The bright son of dawn Will herald the new day The other dim stars Will fade with the coming of the light The golden braids of the dawn light Will give all away These deeds of the night Must not be known Dawn-bringer 2. The Saffron Flame Night is over soon The old titan looks towards the sky And though he’s escaped the chains He cannot leave his space confined Dawn has awoken Vines recede below Lights in the caves grow dim Down do the creatures crawl Please, please come follow me Now the morning comes And the heat returns Eyes, they follow me And they talk to him My wretched son Hide, don’t let the saffron dawn see you Come back down into the shade below Fly back up towards the stars and go Shade will save you from her jewel like eyes Time’s not on my side High her horses ride Shades soon disappear Deep the titan goes, so far below Break, the morning light You sense of my presence right away I have missed my chance To flee into the darkened world below 3. Golden Orb Rose of the morn’ You ride and bring forth the light Rising from throne lands in the ocean deep From east you fly On young Firebright and Daybright Why do your eyes look so unwelcoming These lands are cursed and I am drowned in fear Why has this wretched path led me to here The fire and darkness fight with little grace In holy war there is no resting place Dawn, what do you see? With whom do you speak? Don’t let him go Don’t let him flee I need to know Why he has come Who he has seen Now stands a titan tall And his eye is staring at me I feel his burning rage His light is overpowering I run to fleeting shade As the dark protects valiantly Dawn’s children heed his call Scalding winds blow angrily Mortal, what did you see? With whom did you speak? Did you let him go Or help set him free? You need to know How he had come Who he had been Here stands the titan tall And his eye is glaring at me I feel his surging rage His light is sharp and blinding There is no creeping shade As the dark descends cowardly Helios rises north And I fall down on my knees These lands are cursed and I am drowned in fear Why has this wretched path led me to here The fire and darkness fight with little grace In holy war there is no resting place I bow to him The Golden Orb With helmet gold And dazzling robes His stallions ride With bursts of fire His aureole Glows as he speaks 4. Rise of Thunder He rose in tragedy Crowned in blood and patricidal prophecy His last son was hidden And there he grew to fulfil his true destiny He quietly came to me To seek a brethren to dispel his enemies But no, I could not agree His son would rise and overthrow this blasphemy Lord of thunder conquered and claimed his throne His father, in chains and banished Here his anguish has stained the soil His thoughts are clouded by years alone Rising the lord of thunder - rise Titans fall under his might Rise of Thunder 5. Aurora Burning Immortal though I am I am plagued by a wrath so cruel Spiteful, and hateful She left me With an endless flame Burning She cursed me She plagued me with untold desire Enchanting Bewitching Summoning a spell in ire Passion inflicted A thirst that will never be quenched My weakened Existence Was born from a jealous rage Burning She cursed me She plagued me with untold desire Enchanting Bewitching Summoning a spell in ire 6. The Unconquered Star Old and crippled, he wants the world to see who he is, and not who he was He thought I would never be the one to see deep within the depths of the world I fought and won For his own son I travelled far The unconquered star Try as he might To keep out of sight My reach is far The unconquered star Stand here under the golden rays of my great power Bathe in the glow of stellar light and know I see all Know the old one, is from a moment in time that cannot be reborn As long as he lives, he’ll try to claim what once was his, and is no more I fought and won For his own son I travelled far The unconquered star Try as he might To keep out of sight My reach is far The unconquered star Stand here under the golden rays of my great power Bathe in the glow of stellar light and know I see all Dusk returns and I must descend below the waves of the ocean Night returns and my chariot must traverse back to the horizon 7. Below Horizon To darkness I must return Where my eyes can no longer see My light shan’t touch this darkened land Where this wanderer walks free Our ancient order is crumbling And soon will turn upside down He knows not what is set For the days uncertain-bound When my chariot returns On the next barren dawn Will he help this titan rise To challenge his final born So off to the lord of the thunder As the eye I’ve seen it all I’ll speak the words of truth In those mighty marble halls Below Horizon And dawn who rides with me Who’s curse has left her weak This young mortal, enamoured Love’s pity she will seek Below Horizon This titan’s chains, now loose Shall bound this fool instead I’ll let him bare the madness Of a fullmoon night in dread When things come out to linger And feed in pale moonlight The air grows thick in poison As creatures toil and fight Now twilight falls upon them The titan hiding still I doubt he’ll care much for him This prophecy fulfilled 8. The Chains Become Mine (Helios Invictus) The loosened chains from tartarus have now become mine Helios has punished me, for giving the old foe hope I loosened the chain and I’ll take the blame alone I stand here in darkness, bound to the rocks below I played with a fire, I knew so little of I mortal in soul, trapped in a titan world His glowing lights sink below the barren earth The crimson glow a rage which he has unleashed I loosened the chain and I’ll take the blame alone I stand here in darkness, bound to the rocks below I played with a fire, I knew so little of I mortal in soul, trapped in a titan world Dawn, looks back with a tear in her eye… I loosened the chain and I’ll take the blame alone I stand here in darkness, bound to the rocks below I played with a fire, I knew so little of I mortal in soul, trapped in a titan world 9. When the Fires Cool When my fires burned, on that breaking dawn, my eye awakened to the world and the universe When I gazed upon, all the lands unknown and I felt a power deep within that helped all grow All came to know and revere me so, all would worship the light so blindly not knowing what’s to come When the fires cool, when the fires are no longer burning bright, the dark grows When the fires cool, when the fires retreat to the shadowed world and die When my eyes are closed, when the eye can no longer watch over your doomed world When the fires cool, when the fires see that there is nothing left Worlds have come and gone, gods now forgotten, wars and plagues have scourged the realm of men and the home of gods I’m the constant being, every day I bring, hope or fear to those who wait for me, days or months on end Though it’s life I bring, death is close within, worlds will one day see me coming near, and then disappear What is left of me, when my strength gives in, and the light turns dark inside of me, in the growing cold
