Load is a great album. So it's a bit different, shorter solos...BOO-FUCKING-HOO, a song isn't made of solos, fucking idiots. They still have them, and still pull out some heavy shit. 8/10.

load? load what? like a shotgun to kill yourself with? probably sound better than this insipid shit! danm! to think i thought dimmu borgir were facing a downward spiral. metallica is just awful! thank god my friend let me hear this donkey farting for free so i would not have to suffer the agonizing torment of purchasing this shit and being dissappointed at every aspect of the album. listen to the old metallica. ahhh yes... blissful vintage metallica. p.s. do not use as toilet paper! it burns! see they could not even get that right! yes i tried it! my friend really did not care!

Huh?! Whats wrong with this album, I like it a lot. Ofcourse its not even close to the first four masterpieces. This album is just different, its not thrash anymore, its rock. I have heard many other rock albums, they arent as good as this.

Metallica wont ever be like in the 80s. So stop the wining about "Ohh new Metallica sux blaahblaah...".

Listen to this album with no memories of the old Metallica. It might surprise you.

9/10

This album ain't like their previous works of art. This album sucks, unfortunately. It's too repetitive; Doesn't sound as good as their previous albums.

I recal the day I bought this album. It was sunny hot, the temp in the mid eighties. I expected a mid eighties Metallica album. Instead, what I heard was a variety album which left me feeling empty and unfufilled. I guess buying the Suffocation album 'Pierced from Within' the same day did not help my with my thoughts in regards to Load.
After a few more spins I FULLY understod the album and apreciated it for what it was. Long gone were the memories of four long haired, crocked tothed punks from the bay area. Unlike most Metal fans Metallica had matured and decided to branch their musical horizons. I am gald that they did and so am I.
9/10

I honestly don't see the huge problem with this album. Then again, being a huge fan of the grunge/90's alternative scene (Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, ect) Load was a welcome suprise for me. Yes, I've heard their older stuff, and their newer stuff. I basically see it as two different bands. I'm not a huge fan of 80's metal, but Kill 'em All was awesome, as was Ride the Lightning. With Load (and the subsequent Reload) Metallica changed directions alright, but they also made some of the best songs in the alt 90's era. They were masters of two genres, so-to-speak.

Of course, everyone on both sides of the argument can agree that St. Anger absolutely sucked, but that's another story.

Whoever listens to this piece of shit is most likely new to metal and/or they also listen to Britny Spears and simillar shit.

Metallica should officially state that they just suck now and stop creating music.

4.5/10

I hadn't to listen this CD 'cuz I got it from a friend of mine and I don't regret of that. I used to be a Metallica fan and buy their Albums, but after this piece of shit was like metallica is dead for me. This album is a totally lack of soul, heart and musical sense. What a shame!

I just don't get ignorant people. Metallica wanted to do something different so they made a rock album. and it literally rocks. I saw them tour for this in '96. I was 7 at the time. I've been listening to metal for years (when I was 14 my favourite bands were mayhem, death, and christ agony) and I still love this album. metal isn't the only type of music that's out there. I think that Reload was the first step on the wrong path. I really didn't like that album and of course st anger was terrible. those were both examples of trying something and having it not work at all. But back to Load. I think all songs are good or excellent. a very noble thing for the band to do. 8/10
